### Udyam Registration
**Udyam Registration** is a permanent registration for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) introduced by the Government of India to simplify the process of classification and registration of MSMEs. It replaces the earlier Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) and provides various benefits to businesses.
#### Classification Criteria
Enterprises are classified into micro, small, or medium categories based on their investment and turnover:
1. **Micro Enterprise:**
– Investment in plant and machinery or equipment: Up to ₹1 crore
– Turnover: Up to ₹5 crore
2. **Small Enterprise:**
– Investment in plant and machinery or equipment: Up to ₹10 crore
– Turnover: Up to ₹50 crore
3. **Medium Enterprise:**
– Investment in plant and machinery or equipment: Up to ₹50 crore
– Turnover: Up to ₹250 crore
#### Key Features of Udyam Registration
– **Single Registration:** An enterprise can have only one Udyam Registration but may include any number of activities (manufacturing, service, or both) under it.
– **Dynamic QR Code:** The registration certificate includes a QR code linking to the enterprise’s details on the Udyam Portal.
– **Automatic Data Integration:** The system integrates with Income Tax and GSTIN databases to fetch investment and turnover details automatically. Exports are excluded from turnover calculations.
– **No Renewal Needed:** Once issued, the registration is permanent and does not require renewal.
#### Requirements for Registration
– **Aadhaar Number:** Only the Aadhaar number of the proprietor (for individual enterprises) or authorized signatory (for others) is required for registration.
– **Self-Declaration:** The registration process is paperless and based on self-declaration. The information provided should be accurate to avoid penalties.

– **Priority Sector Lending:** Enterprises are eligible for priority sector lending from banks.
#### Registration Process
1. **Visit the Udyam Registration Portal:** Go to the official Udyam Registration website.
2. **Enter Aadhaar Details:** Provide the Aadhaar number of the proprietor or authorized signatory.
3. **Fill in Details:** Input the required details about the enterprise, including investment and turnover.
4. **Submit Application:** Complete the application and submit it online.
5. **Receive Certificate:** Upon successful submission and verification, the Udyam Registration Certificate will be issued.
